In November 1987, ten people met to discuss the possibility of forming a Lutheran Church in Fairfield Glade. Approval of a new mission was obtained from the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America in April 1988. On July 24, 1988, the first worship service was held in the Fairfield Glade Multi-Purpose Building. Fifty-four members signed the Christ Lutheran Church Charter on January 14, 1990.
Early in 1990 the building site was donated to the church by Fairfield Communities, Inc. On November 4, 1990, the church was officially organized as a congregation of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America. On May 24, 1991, we were formally received as a congregation by the Southeastern Synod.
The new home of Christ Lutheran Church was dedicated on January 1, 1993, with a deep appreciation for the blessing of God.
As of 1 January 2011 , we have grown to 397 members.
